Woolworths and Progressive Enterprises pledge A$50,000 to tsunami relief
On behalf of its Australian and New Zealand employees, Woolworths and Progressive Enterprises are donating A$50,000 to the New Zealand Red Cross to assist with tsunami relief efforts. In addition, a number of company-supported fundraising initiatives are now taking place in our stores, distribution centres and support offices, which will further increase this contribution.
Progressive Enterprises GM Supermarket Operations Dave Chambers said: “Many of our staff members have family and friends in Samoa, Tonga and other Pacific Islands, and we are doing everything we can to help them during this difficult time. Our deepest sympathies go to all those who have lost loved ones as a result of this tragic event.”
Woolworths and Progressive will continue to monitor the situation to see if they can offer further practical assistance to relief agencies.
