Maclean Computing Ramps Up Focus On Wellington
Maclean Computing
founder and Chairman, Allan Maclean, takes on special
project to grow Wellington business. Leading IT mid-market
specialist, Maclean Computing Ltd, has signalled its
intention to be more aggressive in the Wellington market
with the announcement that founder and Chairman, Allan
Maclean, will be focusing his attention directly on growing
Maclean Computing's Wellington business.
Allan Maclean stepped down from the CEO role in April this year to become Chairman and to focus on special projects within the business. Chris Maclean, Maclean Computing's CEO, says one of the projects he and Allan had identified as key to the company’s growth was focusing on building up the Wellington business.
"The Wellington office has been working well since we acquired and integrated ATL Systems towards the end of 2008, however, we still believe we are far from realising the full potential offered by Wellington’s mid-market. Having grown the Auckland business from two people to over sixty, Allan has the perfect experience and qualifications to help take the Wellington branch to a new level.
And having previously lived there for fifteen years he’s also very excited about the opportunity to spend more time there.” Allan Maclean will be based in Wellington three days a week, and will focus on building business with new customers. "Whilst we have a good base business in Wellington, we believe there is a lot of potential to bring Enterprise-level solutions to mid-market clients here - from design/supply and support for servers, storage and SANs, virtualisation, IP telephony, networking and security, through to hosted and cloud-based solutions," Allan Maclean says.
He adds that there are a number of new hosted and cloud-based services that Maclean Computing has been developing in recent months which he believes will be extremely attractive to Wellington businesses. "I'm looking forward to getting out and showing people what we've been working on, and how we can really help them to transform their businesses with some of our new technologies and services. Having the time to focus specifically on the Wellington business will allow me to do exactly that."
