A new site to sell your business

A new site to sell your business

Thursday, 29 October 2009

Today if you want to sell a business, people tend to either go through a business broker or they list their business on a website for a fixed period which generally costs between $50 and $150. The alternative to using a broker is somewhat problematic however as no one has made an easy-to-use and simple website. Visit most business-selling websites and they’re generally poorly designed, difficult to navigate and can be quite expensive.

After trying to sell their business through these websites the entrepreneurial founders of BizSeller (www.bizseller.co.nz) Kieran and Caleb resolved to make a site that was fast, easy to use and most importantly, free to use. BizSeller launched yesterday and already everything is in full swing.

“We really wanted to go with a minimalist and simple interface so people would be able to navigate their way through the site without having to read through big blocks of text to find their way around”, says Kieran, “we didn’t want to make it needlessly complex and that was our design goal from day one.”

Caleb and Kieran believe it to only be a matter of time before additional content arrives on the site, although it’s early days they’ve already had interest and listings. Although the site is free there are plans to bring in a paid listing that will have additional features but for now, they’re selecting lucky users at random to have a free listing upgrade.

“We’ve really got a lot of plans for BizSeller, as well as looking at extra listing ideas we also have upcoming competitions and other fun surprises in store for our users”, says Caleb, “we want to make the process of selling your business more interesting and fun.”

Privacy and security are also primary draw cards for sellers at BizSeller, users can contact each other through an in-site messaging system that reveals only a username which ensures that people don’t have to give away email addresses and names to other users unless they actually want to and decide the person they’re dealing with is worth the time.
