National Study to Address Biggest Kiwi Tech Issue
12 November 2009. Christchurch. – Discovering the
marketing magic behind New Zealand‘s best technology
exporters is the drive behind a benchmarking study of sales
and marketing strategies.
Concentrate Limited and
PricewaterhouseCoopers today launched the second annual
“Market Measures” survey online at http://http://www.marketmeasures.co.nz and invited
technology-based companies to participate.
“The
main obstacle to New Zealand becoming more of a
technology-based economy is not coming up with great ideas -
we are already good at doing that, it is coming up with best
ways of selling them to the world,” says Concentrate’s
managing director Owen Scott.
“Our 2008 study
revealed Kiwi technology companies were aggressive marketers
but didn’t follow the best practice of their US
counterparts.
“We want to gather more evidence in
this study of what strategies are important to building more
technology companies of international scale.”
Mr
Scott said a number of industry and government studies have
pinpointed sales and marketing as a key weakness.
Mr
Scott encouraged New Zealand-owned providers of technology
products and services to participate at http://http://www.marketmeasures.co.nz.
Results
of the survey will published in March
2010.
