MEDIA RELEASE 23 NOVEMBER 2009

Good Wine Makes Great Business

After years of receiving awards and accolades for its wine, Saint Clair Family Estate is celebrating recognition on another level. It was presented with a Highly Commended NZ Business Achievement Award 2009 by the NZ Business Excellence Foundation.

To receive a ‘business achievement awardʼ a minimum of 650 points were required. To have achieved highly commended status, well above 650 points (out of 1000) had to be awarded.

Saint Clair Family Estate is internationally recognised as a leading New Zealand wine producer. The quality wines are served in some of the finest establishments around the world and have acquired over 80 trophies over the last eight years.

Saint Clair Family Estate entered the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence awards 2008 and achieved the Business Excellence Supreme Award. This was inspirational reflecting a huge achievement by all staff, leading to further learning, growing and culminating in the NZ Business Achievement Award.

Managing Director of Saint Clair Family Estate Neal Ibbotson comments, “A top New Zealand Business Achievement award reflects quality, not only within Saint Clair wines, but throughout the entire Saint Clair business. To be able to grow in size and remain focused on maintaining and improving the quality of our wines, whilst at the same time improving the quality of the way we do business, is an amazing achievement and is due to the commitment of the quality Saint Clair team of people. We commit to quality across all aspects of our business – quality people, quality vineyard management, quality wine making, quality marketing, quality distribution and quality business. We continually ask the question ‘How Do We Do It Better'? This award signifies the success of our philosophy while at the same time empowers us to continue to grow, develop, and improve.”
