Australia's top shopping online site's NZ Launch

NZ Press Release

Australia's top shopping online site is Launching in NZ.

Catchoftheday.com.au has announced today (21/1) that it will launch a new site dedicated to New Zealand shoppers on the 1st of February 2010.

CatchOfTheDay (or COTD for short) is regularly Australia's most visited online shopping site because it offers a dandy mix of tomfoolery and sparkling sensational deals. The site has built a contingent of over 360,000 followers in Australia so far.

“We plan to emulate this success story in NZ. After all, NZ is only 4 hours away. Why, we say it’s practically another state of Australia!" says COTD spokesperson and Operations Manager, Mr. Gabby Leibovich.

Basically, the website lists just one product for sale per 24 hours, always at an extremely low price. The fun and quirky site already has a dedicated following of hundreds of thousands of shoppers Australia wide, and this figure is increasing daily, much to the delight and pride of the site’s founders.

And here’s how it works. Bang on midday every day, a new product is offered for sale at COTD. Each product is available for purchase for precisely 24 hours, unless sold out prior. It’s that simple.

The lucky shoppers are given no advance notice about products coming up for sale... the fun is in checking the website daily to see what's on offer! And believe us. It’s fun. That’s what COTD is all about.

To date, a colossal collection of products have been up for grabs at COTD.

Items range from manchester, electronic items, toys and home wares, to appliances, Laptops and IT stuff. The site also sells clothing, gadgets, cosmetics, camping, sports gear... it’s a seemingly endless list!

And the sheer diversity of their day to day “Catch” is almost as mind-boggling as their prices. How do they get them so low?

Mr. Leibovich says that COTD sells thousands of items per day and he likes to attribute the growing popularity of the website to its fun and incomparable deals and the staggering power of word-of-mouth.

"We source and feature a wide range of quality, ridiculously low-priced items, and we have fun doing it!" says Mr Leibovich.

"There is always something for everyone at COTD - young or old, male or female, no matter who you are you can snatch up a bargain, have a laugh and enjoy a unique online shopping opportunity every single day of the year."

The crackerjack team behind the website are pretty well versed in the world of online retail, having had previous success with Infomercial TV sales in Australia as well as retail experience in the electronics industry.

And if you just can’t believe it, a quick Google search and comparison of online product pricing reveals the remarkably low pricing available at COTD. This comes as no surprise considering the fact that suppliers are quite literally lining up to provide COTD with exclusive clearance prices and deals.

"The COTD crew of 35 have been working in the retail and online industries for decades and we are well connected as a result. We are consistently able to source close-out or clearance lines from a range of suppliers, thereby offering our customers a terrific selection of daily bargains,” says Mr. Leibovich.

"We are extremely excited about our move to NZ. We believe that our deals will be even more successful in NZ because of our strong buying power and great range of brands, some of which are not always available to NZ residents."

So, it seems that while they are constantly captivating internet audiences with the unexpected, and seducing even the staunchest of shopping cynics with a quality product selection at ludicrously low prices, Catch of the Day has become a highly addictive experience.

Our word of warning? Residents of NZ, miss it at your peril!
