Complex Experiences Record Month

Media Release for immediate use: Thursday 4 February 2010
Complex Experiences Record Month

The recent summer holiday season has seen Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools & Spa experience the busiest month on record.

General Manager Graeme Abbot says the complex is thriving and he’s thrilled with its continued success.

“The summer holiday period was an outstanding one for Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools & Spa, with the pools alone having over a 100,000 visitors through its doors,” he says.

“The year is off to a great start with our business continuing to go from strength to strength, with a 9 per cent increase in visitors to the pools for the month of January 2010 compared with January 2009.”

The Spa at Hanmer Springs has also performed beyond expectations according to Graeme Abbot.

“The Spa has also had a very successful January with business increasing by 11 per cent over the last year. The summer holiday period saw over 2,500 visitors experience the luxurious treatments on offer at The Spa.

“Overall the company banked gross revenues of $1.1million for the month of January establishing a new revenue record for a months trading. These record-breaking figures are extremely pleasing and definitely bring a smile to my face. It really is a great result for everyone involved and our team has worked long and hard to achieve this.”

He says the retail shop at the Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools & Spa has also had a very good start to the year, with an 8 per cent increase in business in January.

Graeme Abbot says the complex wasn’t the only business in Hanmer Springs breaking records – the Heritage Hotel also experienced the busiest month on record in January.
