The Cut Claims Fresh Turf With Golfing Readers

Fairfax Magazine’s The Cut has a scorecard any top golfer would envy and is enjoying a massive surge in circulation after the golfing magazine relaunched as a bimonthly title.

Circulation for the magazine jumped a whopping 20.9% last year from 2008, according to just-released ABC figures. Editor Heather Kidd says The Cut is drawing more readers with its engaging mix of local and international content from the sport’s top writers, along with its brighter, cleaner look after relaunching in 2009.

“It doesn’t matter if you’re a serious golfer or just play occasionally, The Cut has something for everyone with its great mix of content,” says Kidd. “While we’ve retained and upgraded our New Zealand content, we’ve added syndicated material from overseas which means we can publish tips from the sport’s big name players.

“Golfers can never get enough of coaching tips, so we’ve also added tuition specific to female golfers in our focus on women section. And as part of the syndication package, we also publish in-depth reviews and comparisons of equipment and advances in golf equipment technology.”

Kidd says the jump in circulation shows that The Cut’s editorial team is listening to its readers and is also tapped into what the golfing industry wants to see in the magazine.

The Cut is a great read for any golfer. The magazine has improved its game and now we’ve got the scorecard to show it!”
