The Pregnancy Slogan tee competition

Embrace your creative side and let your imagination unfold this year with a slogan that speaks for you and your bump. 

Tell us an inspiring or witty slogan you would love to see printed on EGG Maternity’s popular Mama Tee and you could win a $500 EGG voucher. Enter your creative slogan at your closest EGG store for a chance to see yourself in print and on show.

EGG will select the winning slogan to be printed on the EGG Mama tee and sold via EGG stores and stockists during October 2010.

A percentage of the tee’s selling price will be donated to the Mental Health Foundation (New Zealand) and Beyond Blue (Australia) to assist in raising awareness of Post Natal Depression services.

The competition will run from March 1 till March 31, 2010. The writer of the winning slogan will receive a $500 EGG Gift voucher to spend in store.

Post Natal Depression in New Zealand

One in 10 new mothers in New Zealand is likely to experience Postnatal depression (PND). A further eight out of 10 suffer from some sort of milder post natal blues.

Women with PND can experience a prolonged lowness of mood, reduced interest in activities, tiredness and disturbances of sleep and appetite. Most new mothers will experience these symptoms but what distinguishes PND is the severity and the duration.

Postnatal depression is not often talked about. And yet talking about it is among the best ways to help manage the sometimes serious and debilitating condition. Mothers often don't understand why they are feeling this way and don't know who they can turn to for help.

It is important for women to recognize the symptoms of PND, and actively seek help.  Postnatal depression information leaflets are available from EGG stores nationwide, and from the Mental Health Foundation's Resource Centre.
