Software Upgrade Ensures Security for Customers

NZ Tax Refunds recent software upgrade guarantees security for customers, as well as revolutionising the time it takes to receive notification concerning a tax refund.

NZ Tax Refunds Managing Director Cilla Hegarty says the software upgrade is fantastic news not only for the company, but especially for clients as well She says the upgrade couldn’t have been better timed, given the recent warning from Inland Revenue regarding a hoax email claiming to offer a recipient a tax refund.

“This new software is extremely secure, meaning a client’s personal information given online remains confidential. It also speeds up the tax refund notification process significantly. Within minutes a client will know whether they are entitled to a refund and they will also receive an estimate of how much that refund will be. This is of course subject to IRD confirmation,” she says.

“Our company is the only one in New Zealand offering a fully automated service. Clients will now be able to check online, daily if necessary, to see exactly where their application is at. It’s important they know as soon as possible whether they will be getting a refund, as people need to be able to plan and budget.”

NZ Tax Refunds, New Zealand’s specialist online tax refund company, provides a no-risk service for clients. Its system assesses whether an individual is eligible for a tax refund and if so the company applies on their behalf.

Cilla Hegarty says the company enlisted the services of Christchurch company, Jolly Good Software, to provide the software upgrade.

Jolly Good Software partner Sir Gil Simpson, a world-renowned Information Technology expert, says his company delivered a cost-effective tailored system, which provided an extremely secure computer solution for NZ Tax Refunds.

“This new system is highly secure. It basically removes the chance for human error, it’s very accurate and easy to use. The only errors that will occur are if people spell their own names wrong! This software system is really about as foolproof as you can get,” he says.

“The new ALPHA software system at NZ Tax Refunds totally transforms the efficiency of its business. While the company’s basic processes stay the same, staff are cleverly using technology to dramatically speed up processing time. The ALPHA system eliminates re-keying of data and improves responsiveness to customer enquiries.”

Cilla Hegarty says the end result means the company can process tax refunds much faster than it did before and the whole process is also much easier for clients. She says staff are now freed up to assist with more complex clients.
