TANDBERG Announces Strategic Partnership with Datacraft New Zealand Appointment
Auckland (March 16, 2010) – TANDBERG® (OSLO: TAA. OL) the leading global provider of telepresence, high–definition video conferencing and mobile video solutions, has expanded its presence in New Zealand with the appointment of Datacraft as a local systems integrator partner.
The decision by TANDBERG to appoint Datacraft is in line with the organisation’s growth strategy that compliments the existing New Zealand channel partners. The Datacraft appointment will also enable the company to effectively scale for current and future demand in video conferencing among New Zealand’s public and private sector organisations.
“Companies of all sizes are looking for productivity improvements across their operations. Many are recognising video conferencing as a way to achieve that and they are focusing on how video will integrate into their overall collaboration strategy. We are delighted to extend the successful partnership which we have with TANDBERG in Australia across the Tasman,” said Robin Hartendorp, Managing Director, Datacraft New Zealand.
Marco Corrent, ANZ Channel Manager, TANDBERG, said, “Datacraft is one of New Zealand’s leading systems integrators with market expertise in Unified Communications and considerable integration experience across both Microsoft and Cisco technologies. This will be of considerable advantage in supporting our customers and prospects with their visual communication strategies.
“At the same time, we’ve experienced tremendous success and momentum in the New Zealand market, as the demand for comprehensive video conferencing solutions from the boardroom to the desktop is increasing significantly. We now look forward to supporting Datacraft’s New Zealand team with the TANDBERG portfolio which will help drive their clients’ video conferencing strategies.”
A poll conducted by TANDBERG last November found that video conferencing systems have become much more prevalent in New Zealand businesses with 40 per cent of companies investing in the technology in 2009. The same poll also identified the two most popular applications for video conferencing were executive meetings and internal communications but still almost half of companies use it to communicate with their customers and suppliers and over a third of respondents use the technology for training and human resources (HR) requirements such as candidate interviews.
At the same time, desktop video communications also appears to be coming of age in New Zealand with 46 per cent of respondents anticipating that their organisation will implement video communications technology onto their employee’s desktops within the next three-to-five years.
“Datacraft has found that TANDBERG’s visual communications solutions complement our ethos of providing scalable solutions which are robust, scalable and provide a true return on investment to our customers. We are excited about the opportunity to take this advanced technology to market,” said Hartendorp.
TANDBERG supports its channel partners with dedicated, proactive account management, direct-touch sales assistance and access to its engineering, support and marketing specialists. Datacraft has been investing in developing a dedicated video conferencing practice since November 2009 through building and utilising video facilities as well as training a team of experts to support their customer’s needs in this new and exciting area.
