Te Mata Estate $6 Million Premium Release Highlights Success Of Fine Wine Market.

Premium New Zealand wine at a premium price is breaking sales records and defying all odds - as highlighted by the March release of Coleraine ‘08, New Zealand’s most famous and collectable red wine from Te Mata Estate,
Thousands attended the recent wine tastings nationwide for the $6 million Te Mata Estate Showcase 2010 release of their fine wine brands.

Coleraine ‘08 leads the release and the other premium Te Mata releases include Awatea Cabernet/Merlot, Bullnose Syrah, Elston Chardonnay, Cape Crest Sauvignon Blanc, and Zara Viognier, from $25 upwards at cellar door, with fine wine retailers creating some excellent offers.

Coleraine retails for $69 at cellar door.

“We are delighted by the response of retailers and customers alike with great demand and competitive prices,” said Nicholas Buck Sales and Marketing Director of Te Mata Estate, “but it comes as no surprise as our focus remains firmly on the top of the market where we’ve seen 35 years of strong growth setting us apart from the ‘savalanche’ affecting most of the industry.”

On the latest releases, Master of Wine Bob Campbell asked “Has there ever been a more deliciously approachable Coleraine? I love it.”
In 2008, Te Mata Estate was given the Outstanding Wine 5 star accolade by the highly regarded independent and international Robert Parker’s Wine Buyer’s Guide, with a special nod towards the great Coleraine.

Robert Parkers Wine Advocate commented on Coleraine – “One forgets just how fine New Zealand’s Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux blends can be…….notably Te Mata Estates brilliant Coleraine..”

Bob Campbell MW continues: ‘It’s easy to become dazzled by flagship Coleraine and ignore some of the other wonderful and often innovative wines in the Te Mata range.’

Fine wine retailer Raymond Chan says: “The Te Mata Estate Showcase is one of the most important events on the wine lover’s calendar. It serves as a benchmark for the rest of the country.”
