Giddyupgirl Hits NZ With A Flying Start!
PRESS RELEASE
Giddyupgirl Clothing Range – Known As The
Billabong For Horsey Chicks – Hits NZ With A Flying
Start!

Managing Director, Tammy Raine, is thrilled with the response from New Zealand to the launch of her Australian clothing range, giddyupgirl.
Known as the Billabong for horsey chicks Tammy couldn’t resist the demand for the brand in New Zealand and now has a Christchurch based distributor. Only five years ago, at a show jumping training camp with her then 13 year old horse mad daughter, she noticed that most girls were wearing surf brands and knew that these girls were into riding horses not waves! She approached some of the girls and asked them what they thought about a funky, edgy clothing label for horse lovers and they all loved the idea. Giddyupgirl was conceived that very next day and has been growing strong ever since!
We have always been dedicated to giving young equestrian enthusiasts real fashion alternatives to traditional riding wear but we needed to adapt the garments for the colder climates of New Zealand, says Tammy. Our lifestyle in Australia requires much lighter weight garments due to our mild winters. This is not the case in New Zealand; our New Zealand neighbours require functionality and extra warmth because often they are riding in zero and below temperatures and sometimes even snow! This had us searching for fabrics that would bring all the required components together. It appears we have achieved just that from the sales figures coming in so far!
Some of our best sellers are a soft faux fur lined, 100% waterproof jacket with features of reflective tape , this is a perfect jacket for those early, dark and foggy starts getting your horse ready to work. Also our fitted spandex hoodie backed with fleece and drawstring at hip to keep out the nasty drafts. This hoodie also has a mobile phone pocket on the upper sleeve, just what every rider needs…somewhere comfortable to put their mobile phone!
Giddyupgirl has a complete range of clothing and accessories to compliment any female rider, from equestrian luggage to an all in one water resistant gaiterboot and back to school items …we have it all says Tammy.
To think 5 years ago all I wanted to do was have an online store in Australia selling t-shirts to now owning a global clothing brand selling all things equestrian to the USA, Europe and New Zealand still amazes me every day!
