Datacom selected as new Parliament provider

Datacom selected as new Parliament joint service provider

The Parliamentary Service and Executive Government Support announced today in a joint statement that Datacom has been selected to provide a single service desk and ICT support services for the Executive and Parliament.

Moving to a single service provider for both organisations will improve efficiencies in the delivery of a seamless service to members of Parliament and Ministers.

“The move to one service provider will improve the efficiency of data transfer between our two organisations and facilitate the smooth transition between the executive and parliament for members and staff,” they said.

Datacom is the largest New Zealand owned ICT company and has a strong track record in providing managed ICT services.

A transition plan has been developed to ensure the high standard of service delivery is maintained through the changeover period, which will be completed by June of this year.

“We believe the shared service desk will improve the level of service we provide to the Executive and members of Parliament, and allow consideration of a shared network in the future.”
