Free info seminars from Companies Office

Free info seminars from Companies Office

Want to know about changes coming to the Companies Office, or need an update on their business work? How about an introduction to the new Financial Service Providers Register (FSPR)?

The Companies Office is hosting ‘Business Update 2010: New Services for the New Decade’ information seminars in April and May throughout New Zealand.

Justin Hygate, Group Manager for the Companies Office, said that these seminars “are critical for our clients to understand the changes coming with our new IT system, such as the igovt logon. Plus, any person or company who is in the broad spectrum of financial services will need to know about FSPR. It is an important new register that will enable more effective monitoring and evaluation of the financial sector, and promote consumer and investor confidence”.

Attendees can select any or all of the three sessions:

Business Update focuses on legislation changes, tips, statistics and what’s on the horizon for business.govt.nz, the Companies Office, Personal Property Securities Register, and the Financial Service Providers Register.

The New Companies Office Services introduces new online tools, widgets, igovt logons, and key functionalities such as personalised dashboards available with the new IT system.

Financial Service Providers Register (FSPR) introduces the FSPR and AFA regimes, who will administer them, registration and authorisation requirements, how to register on the FSPR, and the process to become an Authorised Financial Adviser (AFA).

Hygate noted that even clients who don’t frequently use the Companies Office’s services will find the seminars valuable. “We will talk about our new services and tools as well as new requirements, so whether you visit us once a day or once a year, you should attend”.

He added “Our Business Update seminars are always a success, because they show our commitment to New Zealand businesses by bringing information as directly to clients as we possibly can.”
