Mac's Brewjolais on Tap for a Limited Time

Love fresh and fruity, yet unique craft beer - well here it is! The seasonal release beer– Mac's Brewjolais - is back again for a limited time on tap at selected locations.

In March each year, a small team from Wellington catch the ferry over to Motueka, where they collect the first hops of the season which are fresh green hops. The wet hops are quickly transported to the Wellington Mac's Brewery where in the early hours of the morning the fresh Motueka hops are turned into a sweet distinctive brew.

Now in its fifth year, the beer brewed from the first hops of the season, is turning into a popular and anticipated tradition. Mac's Brewjolais is only available for a couple of months, as only two brews are made from the fresh hops.

Accomplished Mac's brewer, Alasdair Clem, says, “I am excited about this years brew. The aroma is big and fruity with hints of orange marmalade and apricot but with some more savoury grassy and spicy notes complimenting this. Balancing out the prominent hop character are some caramel malt aromas. The body is full, yet balanced, with the malt sweetness deviously partnering the hop bitterness, which lingers briefly on the palate."

Mac's Brewjolais has an ABV of 5.5% and is available fresh on tap from April 1 at these selected outlets:

•Northern Steamship, Auckland

•Nuffield St Brew Bar, Auckland

•The Neighbourhood, Auckland

•The Brewery Bar, Wellington

•The Vic, Nelson

•Poplar Lane Brew Bar, Christchurch

Ensure you make the most of the limited release Mac's Brewjolais, because when it runs out, 12 months will seem like an awfully long time to wait for the next batch.
