Fresh
and vibrant Ti Point Sauvignon Blanc 2009
Ti
Point winemaker, Tracey Haslam, has released her 2009
Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. This wine wholly reflects the
long dry summer and autumn of 2009 that was experienced in
the stunning Wairau Valley.
The area is an old river valley and the grapes for this wine were sourced from a classic Marlborough vineyard site of stony soils and overlying silts which capture and retain the sun's heat during the crucial ripening period.
The 2009 season, saw harvests take longer to ripen than others, due to cool early summer weather resulting in well developed flavours and broad spectrum of fruit coming in from all over the region.
Selected individual vineyard parcels were gently de-juiced and slowly fermented at cool temperatures to retain and enhance true varietal expression and flavours.
The biggest selling varietal in the world, Sauvignon Blanc is one of the most popular wines for entertaining, chilled as an aperitif or with a summery salad.
Tracy, most famous for wines which have layers of flavour and an inviting texture, is confident Ti Point’s 2009 Sauvignon Blanc is no exception.
“We are thrilled with the results of the stunning 2009 harvest,” says Tracy.
“This vintage presents vibrant aromas of ripe tropical fruits coupled with zesty citrus and lemongrass notes. An intensely flavoured palate with an abundance of layered fruit flavours.
“Richly textured, mid palate with a long, lingering yet feisty finish, we could not be happier and more confident with our most recent release.”
The 2009 Ti Point Sauvignon Blanc is available at wine outlets nationwide. RRP $20.90
