OnKor™ wins award for Most Innovative Service

OnKor™ wins award for Most Innovative Telecom Service or Application in NZ

At a ceremony held at the Auckland Hilton today, OnKor™—Kordia’s fully managed IP network solution—received an award for the Most Innovative Telecom Service or Application in New Zealand 2010.

Awarded by CommsDay NZ, this award is based on the votes of readers of industry publications—effectively a peer review of the leading companies, services and individuals in the sector.

Accepting the award on behalf of the Kordia Group, CEO Geoff Hunt said that “OnKor™ was the product of a strategic decision to leverage our existing investment in our NGN platform and to extend this capability to the corporate market.”

“OnKor™ is a nationwide Carrier Ethernet service and the result of huge internal developments involving the upgrade of many of Kordia’s systems to support entry into a new market,” he says.

“OnKor™ is testament to the capability of Kordia people, and the organisation getting behind what is an important strategic development for Kordia.”

Allowing customers to selectively outsource their WAN operation, OnKor™ provides real-time network usage and performance information via its customer portal.

“Customers can view how individual applications are performing and prioritise them to make sure they are making the best use of the available network resources,” says Murray Goodman, Kordia Business Manager.

“These features provide decision-ready information, giving customers a new level of visibility and control to manage business outcomes. They can now see how their network and applications are performing and be confident their network is ‘right-sized’. End user satisfaction and keeping control of costs is at the top of everyone’s list. Onkor™ ensures those needs are met.”

Backed up by a 24/7 service management centre, OnKor™’s support centre is run by engineers meaning that faults are resolved by the person answering the call, rather than answered by call centre staff.
