NEWS RELEASE Release : immediate 31 May 2010
Every window deserves to be broken…….. thermally broken
A new website
aimed to help inform and educate consumers about the real
value and role of windows and doors in new home construction
and refits has just been launched by Technoform Bautec a
global leader in this field.
The site , including an
e-brochure, can be viewed at www.rightwindows.co.nz
A lot of emphasis has recently been devoted to energy efficiency and a healthier living environment through better insulation; however windows and doors which make up to 35% of a building’s “envelope” are often sadly overlooked according to the company.
Explains company spokesman Les
Probert “we ask a lot of our windows, from framing views
to letting in light and ventilation while at the same time
keeping us secure and protecting us from a wide range of
climatic conditions”
New high tech thermally broken
aluminum windows and doors can save energy costs, help
prevent the harmful build up of condensation and mould while
at the same time ensuring wellbeing by providing a
comfortable year round temperature at lower
cost.
Thermally broken windows and doors have been accepted as the norm for many years in the Northern hemisphere but are a relatively recent but welcome innovation in New Zealand and Australia. Technoform Bautec provide a high tech polyamide strip used in the manufacture of thermally broken aluminum joinery as well as a “spacer” product used in the construction of double glazed units to make windows and doors much more thermally efficient.
The World Health Organization suggests a minimum year round ambient temperature of 18 degrees in our homes. Many homes currently fall well below this standard which also helps explain why we have one of the highest respiratory illness rates, especially amongst children, in the world. With up to 45% of energy (both heat and cold) transferring via windows and doors this means it is an area deserving attention
The new right windows website help’s home owners to better appreciate why an investment in aluminum , thermally broken, double glazed windows has a payback at many levels from energy savings to comfort , sound insulation and improved future resale value.
