Retro cool with Studio Ceramics’ new Retro Lynn range
Studio Ceramics is once again making the old, new again. The latest range, Retro Lynn, is a reinterpretation of classic vases from the Crown Lynn archives. The range features famous shapes such as the Ranfurly and Brussels Shells (RRP $66.00), Nautilus and Metro Vases (RRP $80.00) and quirky favourites like the Fish Vase (RRP $72.00) and Baby Swan (RRP $60.00).
Each piece is finished in a high gloss glaze and has a unique candy coloured slip on the inside. The colours are inspired by the pastel hues of the original McAlpine Fridge Jugs. The Fridge Jug ($70.00) also makes an appearance in the Retro Lynn range as a smaller and easier to hold version of its traditional self.
Another shape sure to evoke nostalgic memories is the Hotel Jug. This versatile piece comes in 5 sizes from extra-small to extra-large and works as a vase, jug or piece of art in both traditional and modern home décor schemes. The Hotel Jug is based on a shape that was popular internationally last century. It was known in England as the Avon Jug, in Australia as the Army Jug and made by potteries from Crown Lynn and Temuka in New Zealand to the famous North Staffordshire potteries in the U.K.
