Les Clef d’Or AGM to be held in Queenstown

Showcasing the best of Kiwi hospitality, Crowne Plaza Queenstown this weekend welcomes delegates to the national AGM for the Hotel Concierge Society Les Clef d’Or New Zealand (HCSNZ).

HCSNZ is a non-profit, non-political association of tourism industry professionals with an invitation only membership made up of the finest hotel Concierges throughout New Zealand.

28 Clef d’Or [Pronounced: Clay door – translates as golden keys] members will be joined by three executives from the Australian Clef d’Or Society for the three-day Annual General Meeting.

The meeting is to be held from 4-6 of June and will include planning for the Union Internationale des Concierge d’Hotels (UICH) Les Clef d’Or World Congress which will be staged in Queenstown in 2013.

Crowne Plaza Queenstown’s Hotel Leisure Concierge, Nathan Wise, one of just two Les Clef d’Or members in Queenstown, says this AGM is his opportunity to show New Zealand members Queenstown’s capability in terms of hosting a world class conference for 500+ delegates.

“I am just delighted to be able to show off Queenstown as a premier leisure destination, not only for our AGM but also as the perfect venue for our World Congress,” says Mr Wise. “Winter has arrived just in time to give us a picture postcard winter wonderland destination and we’ve got a programme of meetings, adrenaline inducing activity and gourmet dining lined up that is bound to impress our delegates.”

During this weekend’s AGM, the Concierges will hear from guest speakers from key New Zealand tourism companies and a trade show of local businesses are part of the planned activity.

Mr Wise was awarded his golden keys in 2008. He has more than ten years of front line hospitality experience in hotels in various locations including downtown Sydney and Whistler, Canada. He moved to Queenstown in 2004 and says he intends to stay in the Otago region for the foreseeable future.

"Queenstown has natural beauty, breath taking scenery and wide range of adrenalin activities. It’s a fantastic place to work as a Leisure Concierge and Crowne Plaza Queenstown is a wonderful, friendly hotel in one of the world’s great locations.”

The HCSNZ is a non-profit, non-political association who work to the motto ‘In service through friendship.’
