Event Industry Award Entries Open

Award Entries Open

Entries are now open for the 2010 New Zealand Association of Event Professional’s (NZAEP) Event Industry Awards.

The NZAEP Event Industry Awards recognise excellent business practice in the events industry and encourage industry professionals to raise the overall standards of practice in New Zealand.

Presented annually, the Awards have become an eagerly anticipated component of the annual Eventing the Future Conference Dinner which this year will be held Monday 9 August in Christchurch.

The Awards recognise excellence in five categories, including: Best Emerging Event, Best Marketing of Event, Best Partnership for an Event, Best Established Event, and Best Environmentally Sustainable Event.

The Awards will be judged by a panel of industry specialists from throughout New Zealand who have been selected across various event disciplines.

Board chair Rae Finlay said “the awards are an opportunity to recognise the ‘crème de la crème of the country’s event industry. Each year we are impressed by the calibre of entries. This year we have called for nominations, allowing the industry to nominate events they feel are an example of excellence; we are expecting an extremely high standard of entries in 2010” she said.

2009 Award winners included:
Best Emerging Event The DUAL, total sport Ltd
Best Established Event American Express Queenstown Winter Festival, Queenstown Winter Festival
Best Partnership for an Event Oxfam Trailwalker 2009, Oxfam New Zealand
Best Environmentally Sustainable Event Oxfam Trailwalker 2009, Oxfam New Zealand
