NZ Rugby World Magazine of the Year at Qantas Media Awards
The readers have been telling us for a while now, but on Friday night it was the judges at the 2010 Qantas Media Awards that spoke. NZ Rugby World was named Best News Stand Magazine.
With circulation and readership increasing over the last year, we were happy with our form, but winning was never a certainty against industry heavyweights North & South and The Listener.
This is what the judges said:
Under Gregor Paul’s editorship NZ Rugby World has raised the bar on what a specialist magazine can achieve.
The magazine has both flair and reach. It serves
its target readership well, but it’s entertaining writing,
combative analysis, humour, clarity and intelligence make it
an appealing package to
a wider constituency.
NZ Rugby World is also a finalist for Magazine of the Year and Editor of the Year in the Sports & Leisure category of the MPA Magazine Awards will be announced on 24 June.
