Transfield Services secures $18 million renewal of main electricity contract
Transfield Services announced today it has secured an $18 million two year renewal to its main grid equipment operations contract with New Zealand’s national electricity grid operator Transpower. Since 1995, Transfield Services’ staff have worked in close relationship with Transpower, operating New Zealand’s high-voltage electricity transmission grid.
Transfield Services’ Chief Executive Australia and New Zealand, Mr Bruce James, said today: “Stability and reliability of the national grid are critical in ensuring New Zealand consumers and industry get the energy they need. We look forward to continuing to help maintain this key national asset.”
Over the last two years, Transfield Services has met or exceeded over 90 percent of Transpower’s key performance criteria under its contract. The operations contract will next come up for review in June 2012.
