Companies Office launches a new era in services

The Companies Office has successfully launched its new IT system Enterprise, bringing a new era of services to New Zealand business.

Justin Hygate, Group Manager of Business Registries at the Ministry of Economic Development, said “We launched Enterprise on schedule on 28 June 2010. The new system is an enormous change for us, and for all our clients – we really have brought in a new era of services for the new decade as we promised.”

Features of the new site include new logon procedures, contemporary navigation, personalised dashboards, enhanced company information, and enriched searches.

Neville Harris, the Registrar of Companies, expressed his approval of the new services. “For many years the Companies Office has been a world leader in business registries. Now with our new system we can secure our global level of service and client satisfaction. I am confident that we will continue to provide award-winning services and make it easier for New Zealand to do business.”

Hygate noted that the new navigation and branding including the all-of-government fern was a good step for the Companies Office. “It has been over five years since we updated our look and feel, and nearly 15 since we went online. We are happy with the chance to really change and improve. Businesses should find it even easier to use our services and find the navigation much improved“.

Other entities operated by the Companies Office, such as the new Financial Service Providers Register (FSPR) and the Incorporated Societies register, will be moved to the new IT platform and branding beginning in mid-2010.

The Companies Office offered its first online services in 1996. It has consistently won awards for its client service and ease of doing business, and has been named as the most helpful government agency in New Zealand.
