T&G Board And Direction Unchanged By GPG Announcement
Turners & Growers, New Zealand’s leading distributor, marketer and exporter of premium fresh produce, today confirmed that changes to the board of its shareholder GPG Plc would have no impact on the direction of the company or its leadership.
Turners & Growers CEO, Jeff Wesley said the company was very pleased that Tony Gibbs would remain chairman of Turners & Growers.
“Tony’s leadership and direction has been a major driver of Turners & Growers success and the strategy that has underpinned its growth.”
“We are pleased that the company will continue to benefit from his experience and long-term vision.”
Mr Wesley said that Turners & Growers direction, which was outlined at last week’s AGM, will remain unchanged.
At the AGM Turners & Growers told shareholders that it was continuing with its development of new kiwifruit and apple varieties in the domestic and international markets and the active pursuit of changes to the outdated Kiwifruit Regulations 1999 to ensure that its lucrative new kiwifruit varieties could be exported without restriction.
