Wood Processors’ Association New CEO

The Wood Processors Association of New Zealand (WPA) announced today that Dr Jon Tanner has accepted the role of Chief Executive Officer commencing 17 August 2010.

Rob Davies, Chief Executive of CHH Woodproducts New Zealand welcomed Jon into the role.

“Following the resignation of Peter Bodeker we undertook an exhaustive search process and are very pleased to have found in Jon the mix of style, skills, energy and experience we were looking for.

“With a strong scientific background Jon has demonstrated the ability to work through and find lasting solutions to complex issues with Industry participants, regulators and community groups in a range of jurisdictions.

"Jon has worked in a range of roles, internationally and in New Zealand, most recently as the Chief Executive Officer of Organics Aotearoa New Zealand (OANZ) where his ability to influence both the diverse range of industry participants and regulators was a key success factor in moving OANZ forward.

“Under the leadership of Jon we will continue to build our strong voice with central and local government to ensure the needs of WPA and FTMA members and the benefits of the Industry to New Zealand are understood.

“Jon is committed to building on the legacy created by Peter and up for the challenges that lie ahead” says Davies.
