TechnologyOne creates new roles

TechnologyOne creates new roles providing specific business software solutions for Government, Utilities, Health and Tertiary Education

AUCKLAND, New Zealand – 29 July 2010 – TechnologyOne, a leading enterprise software solutions provider, has created five new senior management positions to drive forward the company’s long-term strategy of developing specific solutions for key vertical markets.

The new Solutions Managers and specialty areas of focus are:
• Mark Matijevic, Local Government
• Pat Fiumara, National Government
• Brad Smith, Higher Education
• Darren White, Utilities
• Paul Curtis, Health and Community Services

The roles closely reflect TechnologyOne’s investment in the New Zealand market, where the company counts a particularly large number of customers in the government and education sectors. The company recently reached the 100-customer mark in New Zealand, adding MainPower to its growing stable of utilities customers.

All solution managers will report directly to Martin Harwood, who has taken a newly created executive role as Operating Officer for Vertical Market Solutions.

TechnologyOne continues to evolve its business model to meet the needs of vertical markets, and is creating a ‘House of Solutions’ model to support the company’s next stage of growth.

The House of Solutions will focus on the development of sector-specific solutions, built from TechnologyOne’s portfolio of 11 products, and tapping into the local expertise of the Solutions Managers.

Adrian Di Marco, executive chairman of TechnologyOne, said the Solutions Managers will be responsible for the success of these solutions and will work closely with customers in their market to further understand the sector’s requirements.

“The Solutions Managers will work closely with our product general managers and the sales, service delivery and R&D teams, providing them with ongoing customer feedback that will be incorporated into high-quality preconfigured solutions,” Mr Di Marco said.

“The model will provide customers with the advantages of a preconfigured product that’s easier to implement, but it also offers flexibility, because we can fine tune the solution to their immediate individual needs and it can evolve with them over time.”

“This will reduce the cost, timeframes, complexity and risk associated with an enterprise-wide implementation, to ensure customers see a faster return on investment. As a result, we can dramatically enhance the value our solutions provide to our customers.”

The new Solutions Managers bring a wealth of experience to the roles.

Mark Matijevic has been with TechnologyOne for more than 13 years in a variety of roles including sales, consulting, and support. For the last seven years he has been focussed exclusively on the provision of services to Local Government. Mark’s broad experience includes a number of senior management positions for a variety of organisations—broad experience to deploy with the company’s 250 Local Government customers across New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom.

Pat Fiumara has worked in a range of public and private sector finance roles, spending the majority of his nearly four years at TechnologyOne leading the presales push into the Government market. This experience has enabled him to develop a deep appreciation and understanding of the complexities faced by this diverse and ever-changing sector.

Brad Smith has spent 25 years in varied roles within the IT sector and nine years with TechnologyOne, having joined the New Zealand team in 2001. In 2007 Brad moved to Australia to focus on the education sector, and has since been instrumental in progressing a number of major changes to the services and solutions the company provides to its Higher Education customers.

Darren White has been with TechnologyOne for 10 years and has more than 20 years’ experience with a number of ERP solutions. He has previously held several senior management and sales positions. He will use his wealth of knowledge and experience to develop solutions for the diverse Utilities market, which covers water, power, ports, airports and telecommunications.

Paul Curtis has worked across three continents as an implementation consultant before joining TechnologyOne eight years ago. Since then, he has developed a broad knowledge of the company’s products and a solid understanding of his sector due to his integral role in the initial sales process with many of TechnologyOne’s 70 health and community services clients in New Zealand and Australia.

Mr Di Marco congratulated the new Solutions Managers on their appointments and said he was looking forward to the next step in TechnologyOne’s evolution.

“The appointment of the new senior solutions team, along with that of Martin Harwood, is another step in our strategy of evolving the company to look after seven vertical markets in New Zealand. I am confident we have found the right group of people to realise our goals,” Mr Di Marco concluded.
