Studyit Wins Best Education Site for Third Time

Studyit Wins Best Education Site for Third Time
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
20th August 2010

Last night Studyit www.studyit.org.nz won the NetGuide Best Education Site award for the third time, making it New Zealand’s most popular edication web site. Studyit is the online support site that is used by thousands of NCEA (National Certificate of Educational Achievement) students. Studyit has mentors or expert teachers who respond 24/7 to student questions on the thirteen forums. The achievement standards, what students need to know, has been repackaged specifically for students. Studyit is currently funded by CWA.

Ministry of Education funded research shows that Studyit is a unique resource as it not only explains exactly what students need to learn for NCEA, in their own language, but has 28 expert teachers who answer questions on the forums. “This research team believe that Studyit is one of the most successful online forum sites they have observed in terms of the frequency of interaction and depth of learning…” Ann Trewern and Derek Wenmoth, 2008.

Studyit is both free and safe and has almost 30,000 students registered. Students are very positive about the support that the resource gives them. Comments include:

• Studyit really gave me a lot of hope when I felt depressed about my future.

• You certainly have given me confidence in writing essays.

• I've only recently signed up to studyit and already I'm blown away by the amount of help we students can get from here.

• It's really awesome to be able to study at home with the help of such knowledgeable teachers

• Studyit has been of great help for the 3 years of NCEA I've done.

• I would just like to say a BIG THANK YOU to the whole Studyit Team, it really is wonderful what you are doing for us students.
