Great Lake Taupō Brand launched to Towncentre
Great Lake Taupō Brand launched to members of Towncentre Taupō Inc
Over 80 people gathered last night at the monthly Towncentre Taupō Business Buzz event to learn more about the new regional tourism brand – Great Lake Taupō.
“We were really pleased with the response to the new brand,” said Towncentre Taupō General Manager, Kylie Hawker. “It’s now time for all our tourism operators, including retailers who are definitely in the tourism game, to pick up the brand and run with it!”
As well as outlining the development of the brand and showing ways in which it is going to be used, the brand launch also explained the role of the macron over the ‘o’ in Taupō to encourage correct pronunciation.
“A great online campaign has been developed to teach people the correct pronunciation of Taupō,” explained Ms Hawker. “It’s easy to remember, Toe-Paw. We managed to get 80 or so people saying it correctly last night, and hopefully over time the wider community will also start to say Toe-Paw!”
Towncentre Taupō are now investigating ways in which they can start to support the rollout of the new brand through utilising the new Great Lake Taupō logo on promotional materials around the CBD.
