Canterbury fuel supplies remain secure
BP is assuring Canterbury customers they have no need to worry about fuel supplies in the region.
BP Managing Director Mike McGuinness says all BP retail sites and terminals have been checked following Saturday morning’s magnitude 7.1 earthquake and again after today’s magnitude 5.1 aftershock. All except for one retail outlet remain open.
BP’s terminals are operating as normal and are well stocked. The planned deliveries by ship are on schedule to arrive in Lyttelton early next week.
“We know people have a lot to worry about and want to reiterate that they don’t have to worry about fuel,” Mr McGuinness says. “We are doing everything possible to make sure there is fuel for all motorists in Canterbury as well as the rest of New Zealand.”
