Yealands Estate Wins Regional Sustainable Business Network Award
Yealands Estate was awarded winner of the Emerging Large and Corporate Business Award for the Central and Southern Region at the Sustainable Business Network Awards.
The award recognises emerging businesses that have implemented sustainable actions and have more than 20 employees. Launched in 2008, Yealands Estate has focused on becoming New Zealand’s leading sustainable vineyard and winery.
“We’re thrilled with this acknowledgement of our team’s work to ensure we’re leading the way with sustainability ideas and practices for every aspect of our vineyard and winery,” says Peter Mann, Yealands Estate’s Sustainability Manager.
Held last night in Wellington, Yealands Estate was presented its award by Kiwibank, winners of the same category last year.
Judges were looking for businesses that identified their key areas of social and environmental impact and were monitoring and managing these.
They were also looking for businesses that had a sustainability policy which underpinned their activity including social, cultural and environmental factors.
Yealands Estate goes through to the national finals of the Sustainable Business Network Awards in Auckland on the 16 November 2010.
