PMINZ Project Of The Year
PMINZ is proud to announce the Project of the Year 2010 award was won by the New Zealand Customs Service SmartGate project.
“We were delighted and humbled to receive the award for Project of the Year. It was an unexpected surprise for the team at Customs.” said Peter Rosewarne, Group Manager Information Services, New Zealand Customs Service, whose SmartGate project beat two other strong projects for the top prize. Karen Clarke, President of PMINZ said “The PMINZ Awards measure New Zealand’s projects and project managers against a global standard. Winners of the PMINZ Awards are encouraged to enter international competitions in recognition of New Zealand’s ability to compete on the world stage.”
Other awards winners included PMINZ Project Manager of the Year, Byron Roff, Wellington City Council; PMINZ Emerging Project Manager of the Year, Della Cole, Livestock Improvement; PMINZ Volunteer of the Year, Caroline Donovan, Central Branch; and PMINZ Research Achievement Award, Dr Dirk Pons, Professor John Raine and Volker Wochele, “Project Management for Professional Engineers”.
The awards recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements in the project management profession and honour contributions to the Institute. The awards were presented at the recent PMINZ 2010 Conference dinner.
