Southern Branch (Queenstown) Regional 2010 Hotel Receptionist of the Year
Israel Suàrez Guido from the Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa took out the title, with Kim Parker from the Peppers Beacon being the runner-up, both candidates will go on to compete at the National competition to be held In Auckland on Friday 24 September.
Candidates from leading hotels in Queenstown competed; by under going a gruelling panel interview, testing their knowledge on costs, profits, revenue, yield management, staffing level, structure, promotional ideas etc! This was followed by a skill demonstration (role-play) where candidates had to think on their feet to identify guest’s needs and matched them with the highest standard of customer care and professionalism.
ARDENZ- Association of Rooms Division Executives of New Zealand, facilitated regional competitions in Auckland, Wellington & Queenstown, searching for the best of the best from the Hotel Receptionist throughout the country, to find who will go on to represent New Zealand for the David Campbell Trophy at the AICR International Congress which will be held in Christchurch 9-14 January 2011.
