2010 New Zealand Hotel Receptionist of the Year

2010 New Zealand Hotel Receptionist of the Year

Amanda Roberts from the Bolton Hotel Wellington takes out the title of ‘2010 New Zealand Hotel Receptionist of the Year’. Amanda will now go on to represent New Zealand at the AICR International Receptionist of the Year competition which will be held in Christchurch in January 2011. Philippa Robertson from the Intercontinental Wellington was Runner-up.

12-15 National winners from leading hotels from around the world, including Europe, UK, Dubai and Singapore, attend the AICR International ‘David Campbell Trophy’ competition for the title of ‘International Receptionist of the Year’ (won by New Zealander Eve Stacey in 2008) by under going a gruelling panel interview, testing their knowledge on costs, profits, revenue, yield management, staffing level, structure, promotional ideas etc! This is followed by a skill demonstration (role-play) where candidates have to think on their feet to identify guest’s needs and match them with the highest standard of customer care and professionalism.

ARDENZ- Association of Rooms Division Executives of New Zealand facilitates the regional and national competitions to showcase the best of the best that in their role as a Hotel Receptionist embodies the ideal qualities of Customer care, fiscal responsibility, knowledge and professionalism that places New Zealand on the world map for hospitality and tourism.
