JBWere expands philanthropy into New Zealand

JBWere, Australasia's pre-eminent private wealth management company, has expanded its philanthropic services division into New Zealand, appointing Jim Whineray as a Senior Adviser based in JBWere’s Auckland office.

Mr Whineray joined JBWere in 2004 as an adviser, following an extensive career in investor relations, investment management, corporate banking and treasury. He takes up the new role with immediate effect.

Speaking of the appointment JBWere’s executive director of philanthropic services Christopher Thorn said, “Since its inception eight years ago JBWere Philanthropic Services has established itself as a widely respected and trusted leader in the provision of professional services to grant-makers and grant-seekers alike.

“JBWere is committed to developing a market-leading philanthropic capability in Australia and New Zealand and Jim’s appointment is representative of our continued investment and expansion in this field.

“The creation of a dedicated philanthropic adviser role in New Zealand expands our international network in the non-profit space as well as widening our service area,” added Mr Thorn.

Mr Whineray will be responsible for raising awareness of philanthropic issues in New Zealand and introducing the specialist skills of JBWere’s Philanthropic Services team to the New Zealand market.
