Unleashing Kiwi Ingenuity Into The World: Global Entrepreneurship Week 2010
Ideas welcome! The ecentre, Massey University’s business development centre, is offering aspiring entrepreneurs the opportunity to take their idea from garage to global. As part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2010 (November 15-21), the ecentre will be hosting an Entrepreneurs Day (EDay) on Monday15th November that will offer entrepreneurs free 20 minute appointments with experienced ecentre experts.
“So many people sit on an idea with great potential, but it stays an idea unless you start acting on it. We are here to help you hatch your idea by giving you advice on how to progress further, where to get help, who to contact, and to give you some indication of how good the idea is”, says Sabrina Nagel, Business Analyst at the ecentre.
“Incubators help entrepreneurs to
protect their idea and gain maximum value from
commercialisation”, Business Development Manager Dorian
Scott adds. “On EDay, we want to give future entrepreneurs
some assistance in developing their ideas in an informal
confidential setting.”
The ecentre has set up
the EDay in order to encourage more people to take the
plunge and assess whether their product/concept has the
potential to be a successful business.
“It was a great introduction to the resources available through the ecentre and their networks and their advice has led to further business opportunities and an introduction to technology protection and investment assistance”, adds Peter Hardy, Director of Vitesse Audio, who attended last year’s EDay.
