Sony Ericsson delivering the complete smartphone experience

• Sony Ericsson brings together the very best of communication and entertainment in its Xperia™ collection

• The Sony Ericsson Xperia™ X8 extends the range of the most entertaining smartphones

New Zealand – 1 November 2010 – Sony Ericsson announces the launch of the newest member of the Xperia™ family, the Sony Ericsson Xperia™ X8, opening up the world of smartphones to all lovers of digital entertainment.

The XperiaTM X8 builds on the success of the XperiaTM X10 and the XperiaTM X10 mini pro in New Zealand and extends the world’s most entertaining smartphones collection to an even broader audience.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia™ X8 provides the perfect blend of size and power at an accessible price. The four-corner touch user interface, pioneered in New Zealand by the popular X10 mini pro, gives easy one hand use and can be customised to give one touch access to your favourite applications.

The Xperia™ X8 also includes Timescape™ for easy access to all your social networking and the Infinite button for one click access to a world of content. The open Android operating system delivers great smartphone functionality, a huge range of customisable interfaces and access to thousands of applications on Android Market™.

Managing Director for Sony Ericsson Oceania Brendan Johnston says the XperiaTM X8 will help bring smartphone telecommunication to the forefront of the mobile market.

“We are delighted to be able to bring the full experience of our XperiaTM smartphones to new consumers by delivering a fully featured device at the more accessible price point. All lovers of Sony Ericsson products will now be able to experience first hand the benefits of owning a phone that truly acts as a life accessory by bringing an entire world of communications to your fingertips.”
