Support for United Future - AHB levy withdrawl

Press Release from Farmers Against Ten Eighty

“ Farmers Against Ten Eighty commend the United Future Party and Peter Dunne, its leader on their decision to ban future use of 1080 poison.

It is essential that politicians listen carefully to United Future and the people of New Zealand who have given 1080 poison more than a few years tolerance. The time is right to stop this particular poison and to review all poisons that may be suggested for aerial use in the future – New Zealand does not want aerially dispersed poisons and it certainly will no longer accept 1080 in any form.

Farmers Against Ten Eighty, a rapidly growing group of concerned farmers, in indicating their support for the stance of United Future equally indicate that the current off farm work carried out by the Animal Health Board must cease immediately. Farmers and taxpayers no longer wish to fund an organisation which does not solve the problem it was set up to deal with, bovine Tuberculosis. Compulsory levies and taxes directed to the AHB will no longer be tolerated. The AHB must refocus on disease control and eradication, on farm.”
