New Leadership for Hawkins Infrastructure

Friday 26th November 2010

New Leadership for Hawkins Infrastructure

Chris Hunter, CEO of Hawkins Construction Ltd, has announced the resignation of Fraser Wyllie, General Manager of Hawkins Infrastructure.

“Fraser was instrumental in the establishment of the Hawkins Infrastructure division, along with Brian FitzGerald. During this time Fraser has worked tirelessly to create a highly successful and recognised business where none previously existed,” says Mr Hunter.

Hawkins Infrastructure is an operating division of Hawkins Construction Ltd formed in 2007 to target energy, transport, water, marine and environmental projects in New Zealand and overseas. It currently employs 90 staff out of a total 535 for the wider Hawkins group.

“Under Fraser’s leadership Hawkins Infrastructure has created an exceptional track record in the delivery of major projects that are a credit to the already rich history of our business. Fraser leaves Hawkins with my utmost respect and the respect of our team,” Hunter adds.

Hawkins Infrastructure has current commitments to build $300m worth of projects throughout New Zealand including joint venture partnerships delivering Auckland’s rail network electrification project (with Laing O’Rourke) and Contact Energy’s Ahuroa Gas Storage Facility (with Transfield Worley).

Brian FitzGerald, Hawkins Infrastructure Operations Manager, will assume leadership of Hawkins Infrastructure in an interim capacity until a permanent replacement has been found for the General Manager position of Hawkins Infrastructure.

“We are already well advanced in this process and hope to announce a replacement soon. Brian is a key foundation leader of Hawkins Infrastructure and we are fortunate to have someone of his calibre and experience already within our business to help guide the team during this transition period.

Hawkins Infrastructure will continue to function normally in all respects of its operations including project delivery, business development and general management. We have an exciting pipeline of future projects and I’m highly confident Hawkins Infrastructure will achieve its ambitious growth objectives,” says Hunter.
