Markhams New Zealand joins Moore Stephens

Markhams, a group of seven independently owned New Zealand Chartered Accountancy firms, has joined the Moore Stephens International Association (MSIL) and together with existing Australian Moore Stephens firms, is now part of a 15 firm Australasian network.

Retaining its Markhams name, the New Zealand group with offices in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, Hawke’s Bay, Wairarapa and Wanganui, adds the strength of 30 partners, 175 staff and an annual turnover in excess of NZ$25 million to the network.

The eight independently owned Moore Stephens Australia firms are located in all mainland capital cities, and comprise 98 partners, 765 staff and have collective revenue of A$105 million. The global MSIL association of 351 independent firms with 630 offices in 98 countries has annual fees revenue of more than US$2 billion.

Dan Druzianic, Markhams Chairman, says joining Moore Stephens was key to the future growth of Markhams member firms. “The Moore Stephens Australasian and international networks have delivered to us the coverage, contacts, resources and, critically, the support we need to grow our firms.

“We were delighted to find in Moore Stephens a network that genuinely gets behind its members to facilitate their success and the delivery of successful outcomes to clients.

“In addition to all the other benefits Moore Stephens brings to our firms, its pragmatic and ‘big picture’ approach to the development of its network and its complete commitment to supporting our future success gives us great comfort that we have made the right decision.”

Stephen Humphrys, Moore Stephens Australasia Chairman, says the appointment of the Markhams firms was an outstanding result for the Moore Stephens network. “We have been looking to expand our New Zealand presence for some time. Key for us was finding a firm or firms that shared our vision for the future and our commitment to the success of our clients and our people.

“The Markhams firms not only meet all these criteria, they also bring to our network extensive technical expertise across a wide range of service areas, deep industry knowledge and a well deserved reputation in their markets for quality work and successful outcomes for their clients,” Mr Humphrys added.

“With great coverage across both islands and our eight Australian member firms in key locations, Moore Stephens is now uniquely placed to service clients who choose to do business in the Australasian region.”
