Wellington Airport congratulates Christchurch
Wellington Airport congratulates Christchurch Airport and the Canterbury region for securing Air Asia X services and welcomes the airline to New Zealand.
"The new services will give New Zealand another hugely valuable access route into the dynamic high growth markets in Asia" said Steven Fitzgerald, CEO of Wellington Airport.
"Air Asia X's low cost fares will also make visiting our country more accessible to travellers from both the Asian region and also other connecting markets on the airline's rapidly expanding network. New Zealand is about to get a little closer to the rest of the world and this will deliver significant benefits to all NZ regions as these additional visitors explore the many attractions on offer throughout the country." said Steven Fitzgerald, CEO of Wellington Airport.
David Perks, Chief Executive of Positively Wellington Tourism also welcomed the arrival of the new carrier. "The opportunity to grow Asian visitors to New Zealand is significant for Wellington. In particular, visitors from markets such as Singapore and India are keen independent travellers and the connections offered by Air Asia X will make it even easier for these visitors to come to Wellington."
