Harcourts Pakuranga boosted by addition of established team

6 December 2010: Harcourts Pakuranga office has today received a significant boost, with five experienced realtors formerly with another brand joining the team.

Previously a business owner with LJ Hooker, well-known East Aucklander Alan Owens has merged his company with the local Harcourts franchise and today joined Harcourts Pakuranga as their new Sales Manager, bringing his team of four experienced local sales consultants with him.

The merger, effective today, sees the two teams joining forces under the Harcourts brand and working together from the Harcourts office on the corner of Pakuranga Rd and Johns Lane, which is one of two Harcourts offices in East Auckland operated by Eastzone Realty Ltd.

Business Owner David Clifton says he is delighted Alan and his team have chosen to join Harcourts.

“It enables us to strengthen our position in the local market, gain some excellent real estate professionals and achieve economies of scale,” he says.

The merger will also benefit both companies’ clients, according to Mr Clifton.

“By combining our sales teams we can offer buyers a greater number of listings and sellers a larger amount of buyers and achieve various cost savings and efficiency gains that will have positive flow-on effects.”

Mr Owens, who is a born and bred East Aucklander with 13 years experience in the local real estate market, says he and his team are excited about joining New Zealand’s number one real estate group.

“The proud history, strong brand, direction, support and infrastructure of Harcourts is something we were looking for, and the opportunity to join Harcourts Eastzone Realty made good business sense for me, our salespeople and clients.

“In addition, I know the technology and training Harcourts has to offer will be of huge benefit to my team and therefore to their clients and it will be great to be part of a company with such an enthusiastic and achievement-focused culture.”

Mr Owens says both companies have been strong performers individually and he is confident that together they will go from strength to strength.”

Harcourts New Zealand CEO Hayden Duncan says it is pleasing to see another established business decide to join the Harcourts group.

“Clearly they have recognised Harcourts’ advantages and decided that a move to our group is the best option to take their business forward with, which is great endorsement of what we have to offer and where we are going.”
