Financial Advisers Secure Access to Funds Management Tool

Financial Advisers Secure Access to Funds Management Resources

Financial advisers will soon have access to resources currently available only to a few investment professionals under a new professional development partnership announced between the Institute of Financial Advisers (IFA) and fund manager NZ Funds Management (NZ Funds).

Under the initiative and three-year partnership agreement NZ Funds will become the IFA’s inaugural “Professional Development Partner”. This will result in NZ Funds contributing professional expertise to members in the area of financial advice including investment and behavioural finance.

In announcing the initiative, IFA chief executive Peter Lee says, “It’s great timing given the increasing needs of members as they head into the required period of authorisation. NZ Funds has an impressive amount of expertise and resources which will now be available to our members and will further enhance their skills. NZ Funds is also a great fit for our membership given that we strive for excellence, not just competence”.

The partnership will enable the Institute to further develop existing high-quality professional development programmes to members currently delivered via roadshows and its annual conference.

NZ Funds chief executive Richard James says it has been a long time supporter of professional advisers and today’s announcement reflects that support.

“We are delighted to be announcing this partnership with the IFA. We believe that in working with the Institute we can help its members continue to strive to be at the forefront of industry thinking which will assist not only members of the institute, but the financial adviser industry as a whole,” he says.
