Statement from Burger King NZ

Burger King NZ has concluded a staff member's disciplinary process and is satisfied with the outcome of today's discussion. She remains employed by the company.

Burger King aims to act in the best interests of the employee by ensuring the details of this discussion remain confidential, to protect her right to a fair process.

Unite Union chose to single out one incident of this staff member's conduct to draw attention to their cause. This has had the effect of distorting the matter substantially, and threatening the privacy to which she is entitled.

Burger King aims for mutual respect between the company and its employees and has policies in place across our organisation to help facilitate this. Because of this we have chosen not to take part in social media discussions on this matter until this process has reached a conclusion.
