Business workshops to target back to basics
Business workshops to target back to basics
15 February 2011.
Wellington company Business101 has this month launched a series of workshops aimed at New Zealand small business owners and the need to revisit the basics of business ownership and management.
Business101 workshops have qualified for the NZTE Capability Development Voucher Scheme, meaning small businesses may qualify for vouchers to help pay for services such as training workshops courses and coaching that build the management capability of their owners, operators and key managers.
“this means now, more than ever, that the type development and workshops that are so very much needed, are even more affordable and easily achievable for business owners who have often neglected to invest in themselves and their own development” says company director Joy Cottle. “after the last few years of hard slog, through some very tough economic times, many business owners are now thinking about what to do next, and it’s at this time that getting back to basics, ensuring that good foundations are in place for growth, and that systems are in place to ensure that growth can be sustained, is so very important. Our workshops are developed drawing on the experience of some of New Zealand’s most successful entrepreneurs.”
Cottle, was a founder of New Zealand Hosting company iSERVE, who quickly grew to one of New Zealand’s largest hosting companies, while being placed in Deloitte fast 50 and fast 500 at the top of their field, in 2005 and 2006. 2009 saw her sell the business to local NZ ISP Orcon Internet.
The workshops, which are being held in Wellington, Hutt Valley, and Kapiti regions, are 2 hour workshops over a 6 week period, each week a new topic is covered, from Marketing, planning, and cashflows through to succession and structure. The company’s website, www.business101.co.nz offers full details of the workshops and options.
New Zealand Trade and Enterprise ( NZTE) capability development vouchers are only available through regional business partners around New Zealand, . Regional Business partners assess local business to determine what their needs are and assist with a plan to help them develop, grow and innovate.
Vouchers may be allocated as part of the plan to help business pay for up to 50% of the cost of services ( up to a maximum value of $5000 excluding GST) from Registered providers that improve management capabilities in targeted areas.
