Women in Business kicks-off in 2011

MEDIA RELEASE 22 February 2011

Women in Business kicks-off in 2011

Speed networking kicked-off the New Year for the Women in Business Network with around 50 women taking the opportunity to promote their businesses, learn of other businesses whose services may be useful to them and exchange ideas.  “Networking not only opens the door to possible new customers, but also can provide contacts for support and advice,” says Committee Chair, Jane Stevenson.  “The structured speed networking process provided all women attending two minutes with each person they paired up with to share information about their business and exchange business cards and brochures.  It created a great deal of energy within the room that I’m sure will be followed-up.”

Building on the success of the final meeting for 2010, the Women in Business Network will run its 2011 evenings at Southwards Museum.  Jane is enthusiastic about the new venue and the year ahead, saying “this venue provides us with the flexibility of having a larger function room for special events as well as increased car parking facilities and in-house catering.”  The bi-monthly calendar of events for the year will offer interesting opportunities, with a mix of networking, guest speakers and the potential for local business to host functions.

The Women in Business Network is fully supported by the Kapiti Coast Chamber of Commerce and Nature Coast Enterprise.  The Network is open to all women who have their own business, or are either contractors or employed.
