Free IT offered for Christchurch businesses

Free IT offered for Christchurch businesses [Oxygen IT Ltd]

A leading Christchurch IT company that is working within the cordoned area of the four avenues following Tuesday’s devastating earthquake is offering free server hosting and co-location services and a variety of other IT needs for Christchurch businesses.

Oxygen IT which is a local computer firm and Maxnet which is a national data centre facility have partnered to offer free server co-location and where possible a variety of Windows and Linux Visualization offerings for all Christchurch businesses.

Director and Owner of Oxygen IT, Mr Stacey Hema, lost his own business in Cashel Street on Tuesday, but the secure national data centre that hosts servers for websites and email has remained operational throughout the week.

“As a Cantabrian and Christchurch business, our thoughts are with the families of people that have lost loved ones and homes,” Mr Hema said.

“We want to help Christchurch businesses get back on their feet as quickly as they can, and our data centre remains 100 percent operational and we will provide services free.”

“Business owners will want normalcy and peace of mind as soon as possible. Oxygent IT and Maxnet have partnered to offer hosting and co-location services free to businesses.”

Mr Hema has spent the last week working within the Christchurch CBD to restore IT and communication services. “Any Businesses that wish to run their company remotely for their staff and continue to do business can place their servers with us and we will enable them to achieve this as quickly as possible.”

Since September's earthquake Oxygen IT has been helping the likes of the Alcohol and Drug Helpline, Wired Internet Group and many other firms work remotely like this and while it is challenging it has worked for them.
