New TAANZ Chief Executive Announced

New TAANZ Chief Executive Announced

The Travel Agents Association of New Zealand (TAANZ) is delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Olsen as its new Chief Executive Officer.

President Peter Barlow says Mr Olsen will formally start his role on 5 March after spending a week reviewing the organisation's position and objectives in consultation with the Board.

"Andrew Olsen joins TAANZ following his successful tenure as General Manager at Carlson Wagonlit New Zealand. He brings extensive industry experience and enthusiasm to the role," says Mr Barlow.

Mr Olsen’s position is dedicated to TAANZ, the first time the Association has had a stand-alone chief executive in more than three decades.

"Amongst Mr Olsen’s immediate priorities will be reviewing and expanding the value we offer members, and raising the profile of TAANZ, facilitating a strong voice on the important matters facing travel agents today. He will also be focusing on strengthening TAANZ's relationship with affiliated industry organisations and ensuring we take a unified position on industry issues."

Mr Olsen will work closely with the New Zealand Inbound Tour Operators Council (ITOC) and the Regional Tourism Organisations New Zealand (RTONZ).

"The Board wishes Mr Olsen every success in his new position and looks forward to working with him to support our members," Mr Barlow says.
