Supercar and super thinking
coming to Nelson
Some of the most successful corporate brains in New Zealand will be in Nelson this Friday to address the issue of capital investment in New Zealand business.
The Think Tank event is coordinated by
Strategic Link, and the group facilitator, Jim Wilkes, owner
of The Hothouse Agency in Nelson says the theme is Ideas,
Money and Action¹.
³Previously the Strategic Link group has looked at building bigger, better businesses,² he says. ³But this time we are focussed on solving some of the challenges businesses face and what we can do to overcome them - in particular, getting capital investment.²
Jim says there¹s no shortage of innovative ideas in New Zealand, but we struggle when it comes to money and action. To illustrate the point, Jock Freemantle is bringing the Hulme Supercar to Nelson for the Think Tank.
³Having the car at the event is a highly visual example of just how difficult it is in New Zealand to get these types of desperately needed ventures off the ground,² says Jim.
Hulme Supercars Limited, a New Zealand registered company, is seeking investors to produce and market the supercar globally. The Hulme Supercar project was initially founded to help retain design talent for New Zealand.
Jim says New Zealand desperately needs to hang on to talent to make exciting projects fly. John Palmer, Air New Zealand Chairman, and Director of Rabo Bank opens the Strategic Link event with a presentation on Thursday 24 March. Mike Fleming MD Heritage Farms, Rob Woodgate CFO PGG Wrightson, Stuart Cooper GM PGG Real Estate, and Jock Freemantle from Hulme Supercars Limited are presenters on Friday.
